Amend a contract
Yes, contracts can be amended at any time if both parties agree. Keep in mind that the agreement might specify the form of such amendment (e.g., written amendment only).
Best practices
If you amend an agreement, the following is verified.
Contract: The amended contract is specified (e.g., name & signature date).
Date: The date from which the amendment is valid is defined.
Wording: The amendments are set out with the following wording: "Clause [6.2] of the [Sale Agreement date 12.12.2022] is replaced with the following clause: [add]".
Effects of the amendments: The following clause is included to limit the effects of the amendment: "Except as set out in this amendment agreement, the [Sale Agreement date 12.12.2022] is unaffected and shall continue in full force and effect in accordance with its terms."
